Gopuram of Adhi Jagannatha Perumal Temple, Thirupullani
Thiruppullani is a beautiful coastal Divya Desam that is intimately connected with the Ramayana.Thirupullani Aadhi Jagannatha Perumal temple is among the 108 divyadesams of Sri Vaishnavas. Sri Kalyana Jagannathar is the presiding diety with his consorts Kalyanavalli thayar and Padmasini thayar. Since Vibeshanan fell at Sri Rama’s feet for complete saranagathi at this place after being thrown out by brother Ravana, it is also known as “Saranagathi Kshetram”.

How to reach Thirupullani?

Thiruppullani is located approximately 10 km from the town of Ramanathapuram in southern Tamil Nadu. Ramanathapuram is about 4 hours from Tiruchirapalli either by bus or train and another way to cover this place is by having the city of Madurai as a travel base. Thiruppullani is about 2.5 hours by land transport from Madurai. There are also a few other temples if you want to visit in and around Madurai.

The Sethu seashore, where Sri RAMA camped while building the bridge across the sea is about 5 km from the Thirupullani temple.
